After School To Explore

At the Kendall Demonstration Elementary School, after school is more than just entertainment—it’s a powerful extension of our students’ growth, teamwork, and school spirit.

The KDES After-School Program provides a well-rounded experience that supports students’ recreational, academic, and social development in a safe and engaging environment. Through hands-on activities and peer collaboration, students build confidence, explore new interests, and develop a lifelong appreciation for wellness, learning, and teamwork.

The program runs Monday through Thursday, from 3:15 to 5:15 p.m., and offers a variety of enrichment options based on student interests, seasonal opportunities, and facility availability.

The Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center at Gallaudet University is a federally funded center with exemplary elementary and secondary education programs for deaf and hard of hearing students and is tasked with developing and disseminating innovative curricula, instructional techniques, and products nationwide while providing information, training, and technical assistance for parents and professionals to meet the needs of deaf and hard of hearing students from birth to age 21.
