Kendall Demonstration Elementary School provides students with an academically rigorous program so they will become self-directed, independent, and resourceful learners. We serve students from birth through grade 8.
The Early Childhood Education program serves children with varying hearing levels as well as children who are deaf or hard of hearing with additional disabilities. The program utilizes the Teaching Strategies Gold curriculum and its online assessment tool and portfolio. The staff monitors the development of both ASL and English using the Visual Language and Visual Learning (VL2) assessment tool as well as tools for spoken English.
From kindergarten through eighth grade, students experience hands-on learning that is academically rigorous, IEP-driven, and aligned with the Common Core State Standards. They learn how to ask questions, find answers, and work with others to share new knowledge.
